About Rebecca A. Weiner, M.Ed.

Welcome to Learn Play Grow! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rebecca, and I am passionate about the power of play and the importance of inclusion. I grew up with 13 Cabbage Patch dolls, each of whom I brought to life through stories. My Sebastian had a learning disability, and my Madeline had explosive behavior. I was a born educator!

Family, community, and friends are precious to me. When I am not learning through play with families, coaching parents and teachers, or facilitating inclusion in schools, I love to play golf hockey (we created the game!) and tell jokes with my nephews and create puzzle codes and enjoy theater (they are stars!) with my nieces. I have been blessed to know and help care for four generations of my family, and I consider them some of my greatest teachers.

I believe community is about creating belonging, and volunteering is my creative outlet. I love advocating for women and children through the National Council of Jewish Women, championing the lives, stories, and talents of people with disabilities through ReelAbilties, and building bridges of respect and understanding through Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom. I also love co-leading Girl Scout Troop 21 for women with exceptionalities!

Friends, furry and two-legged, are my loves! I have some amazing friends who celebrate play, champion inclusion, and always make me laugh. We are joyful together at movies and live theater, cooking and games nights at home, doing Body Pump (it’s exercise for the body, mind, and spirit) at the gym, and marching for advocacy across the nation.

Please tell me about YOU! What are YOU passionate about? What do YOU love? How do YOU make a difference in the world?
